New for 2008 John and Kate Hyde's Fairlea Ranch and their stallion Silver Gun will sponsor the NRCHA Yearling Sale Purse.

Yearlings that are NRCHA Stakes Eligible and actually sell in the Open Futurity Sale or the Select Yearling & Broodmare Sale in 2008 are eligible to make a payment of $250 that makes them paid into the NRCHA Yearling Sale Purse. $5,000 sponsored by Fairlea Ranch and Silver Gun  will be added to the combined payments to form the 2008 NRCHA Yearling Purse that will be paid to the highest advancing 3 year-old in the 2010 NRCHA Futurity Open Preliminaries.

The NRCHA Yearling Sale Purse can be paid by the consignor before the sale or by the buyer after they purchase a yearling. Payments must be made no later than the last Sunday of the NRCHA Futurity.

A yearling that is NRCHA Stakes Eligible is “Eligible for the NRCHA Yearling Sale Purse”. If it also changed hands by selling in the Open Futurity Sale or the Select Yearling & Broodmare Sale and made the NRCHA Yearling Purse payment by the last Sunday of the Futurity it is “Paid up for the NRCHA Yearling Sale Purse”.

NRCHA Classic Sale Yearlings and Broodmares
Sale Date: Thursday, October 2, 2008
Entry Deadline: June 15, 2008
Video Requirements: VHS or DVD to be sent by June 15, 2008. Short, quality videos with horses prepared to look their best will give you your best chance for selection. With the horse standing, show front, back and a profile of both sides of the horse. Make sure all of the horse is visible. Walk horse away from and back to the camera. Do not include footage of horses turned loose in an arena or round pen.
Sifting Criteria: Sale entries will be selected by the Sale Committee based on conformation and appearance in the required video and on the performance and production records of the entry’s sire and dam or in the case of a broodmare of the entry herself. In the case of a tie for the last entry in a sale NRCHA Stakes Eligible entries will be selected.

Video Requirements: VHS or DVD to be sent by June 15, 2008. Short, quality videos with horses prepared to look their best will give you your best chance for selection. Lope a circle each way. Show your horse stopping. Show your horse turning each way. Work a cow.
Sifting Criteria: Sale entries will be selected by the Sale Committee based on their performance, conformation and appearance as seen in the required video and on the performance and production records of the entry’s sire and dam. In the case of a tie for the last entry in a sale NRCHA Stakes Eligible entries will be selected.
